Our WINE & GOURMET tour of Tuscany focuses your time on wining & dining, or rather: tasting, nibbling, sampling, savoring, relishing, sipping, toasting and quite simply indulging in a whole array of culinary wonders. You will be led through a full-immersion experience that will delight your senses, from intimate wine-tastings, homecooked farm meals to sophisticated gourmet gatherings. We will take you to some of the region's finest wineries where you will learn to distinguish between the different types of grapes that ultimately become part of the unique recipes in creating Tuscan wines. Meet a reknown native barista champion who will lead you on a journey through the love and lifestyle behind Italian coffee culture. In our gourmet cooking class you will learn to recreate savory traditional dishes. Our Florence food tour, cheese tasting tour, a visit to a unique farm raising a a special breed of pigs native only to Tuscany... All of this is of course mingled with the usual highlights of the ultimate Tuscan experience: strolls through delightful hilltop villages and drives through the romantic hillsides with awe-inspiring landscapes.

Full itinerary for our Wine & Gourmet Experience 6 days / 6 nights

This is designed as a private tour and not a generic group tour so that you may customize it as you wish to suit your interests, needs and budget. Please see our ideas for other activities.
  • DAY 1

    - Afternoon arrival in Florence airport or train station. Transfer to city center accomodations.
    - Free afternoon to explore Florence. Take a stroll, admire the sites of this true outdoor museum, enjoy an espresso while seated at one of the city's historical outdoor cafés.
    - Dine on local products in one of Florence's fine gourmet establishments.
  • DAY 2

    - Meet with your personal tour guide for a private walking Food Tour of Florence.
    - Stroll through the city while sampling cheeses, truffle, meats, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, wine, coffee, gelato and much more.
    - Free afternoon to wander the city. Visit some sites, explore the many galleries and museums, enjoy some shopping in the many fashionable boutiques.
    - Take a break in a popular coffee house and enjoy a coffee lover's & lifestyle lesson with a renown 3 time barista champion.
    - Enjoy another fine meal in one of Florence's top trattorias, a favorite among locals.
  • DAY 3

    - After breakfast and check-out, private transfer to the countryside.
    - Check-in to your country accomodations amidst picturesque Tuscan hills.
    - Spend the day exploring Chianti with its many medieval hilltop villages dotting the landscape. Stroll down ancient cobblestone streets, visit artisan shops and one of Italy's oldest butcher shops.
    - For lunch, feast on famous succulent Florentine steaks at Tuscany's acclaimed "mad butcher".
    - Visit the historical villa where Leonardo Da Vinci once painted one of his greatest masterpieces, now a prestigious winery estate. Embark on a guided tour followed by a wine-tasting snack.
    - Return to your country accomodations for a savory dinner prepared with seasonal produce.
  • DAY 4

    - Start off this morning with a visit to an truly unique farm whose spectacular breed of pigs dates back to Roman times and is native only to the area around Siena. Enjoy a delightful homecooked lunch with tastings of the farm's meats and olive oil paired with several wines from the estate.
    - Afterwards, take a stroll through the stunning medieval town of San Gimignano with its ancient towers and picturesque alleys, famous for its white Vernaccia wine. Explore the town on your own, wander through its lively streets and squares.
    - Return to your country accomodations for a savory dinner prepared with seasonal produce.
  • DAY 5

    - Spend the day exploring the breathtaking Val d'Orcia region which in 2004 was added to the list of UNESCO Heritage Sites, an area offering some of the most awesome views in all of Tuscany.
    - Stroll down the pecorino-scented streets of Pienza, home to an infinite variety of sheep's milk cheeses, among the most prized in all of Italy.
    - At lunchtime, you will visit a local organic cheese farm. Indulge in a hearty, homemade lunch on the farm with pecorino cheese tasting.
    - Spend the rest of the day leisurely village-hopping: Montalcino, Bagno Vignoni, Montepulciano, San Quirico d'Orcia... Stop by the ancient and mystical Sant'Antimo Abbey.
    - In the late afternoon, stop off at a local winery for a tasting of the area's prestigious Brunello di Montalcino red.
    - Return to your country accomodations for a savory dinner prepared with seasonal produce.
  • DAY 6

    - Start off your day off with a gourmet cooking class where our local chef will guide you through the preparation of a variety of traditional Italian recipes using local seasonal produce. Learn the fundamentals of Italian food philosophy and the basics behind its culinary tradition.
    - At the end of the lesson you will sit down and enjoy the multi-course meal you have just prepared with plenty of local wine a to go with it!
    - Spend the afternoon self-exploring the magnificent city of Siena, one of Italy's true gems. Wander its winding streets, visit its majestic sites, or shop in the city's vibrant center at its many specialty boutiques.
    - Enjoy one last delicious meal back at your accomodations, bringing to a close an amazing week!
  • DAY 7

    - After breakfast, bid farewell to Tuscany. Transfer to Florence airport.
    - Departure.
    - Arrivederci!
